This presentation accompanies a workshop that I lead to provide practical support for Grade 6 classroom teachers in Ontario who may be teaching about the Holocaust for the first time. As some teachers feel intimidated by teaching this complex topic, the purpose of this guide is to help boost teacher confidence through guidance and resource sharing.
I have used my own classroom teaching experience combined with best practices in the field of Holocaust education to help teachers see that this complex material can be adapted to Grade 6 classrooms in a way that is both historically accurate and age-appropriate.
