Meet Cindy.

Cindy Kozierok is a Grade 6 classroom teacher in the Toronto District School Board, where she has been teaching for 30 years. She is also an educational consultant, specializing in Holocaust education in elementary public schools. This unique positioning allows Cindy to combine practical experience with the realities of classroom teaching and an advanced academic background in Holocaust scholarship and educational philosophy.

Cindy is a doctoral candidate in the William Davidson School of Education at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, with a research focus on Holocaust education in elementary schools. Her dissertation proposal is entitled:  Bring them safely in and safely out: Ontario teachers’ perceived readiness to implement a Holocaust mandate in sixth-grade classrooms. Cindy is certified by the Ontario College of Teachers with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Education in Primary/Junior/Intermediate, Technology, and Special Education.

A child of Holocaust survivors, Cindy is dedicated to providing high-quality educational support for organizations involved in Jewish, Holocaust, and antisemitism education. She is the Education Co-Chair for Liberation75 and the TDSB Jewish Heritage Committee, and provides consulting services to a variety of organizations such as the Ontario College of Teachers, Ontario Teachers Federation, the Toronto Holocaust Museum, Carrying Testimony, Holy Blossom Temple, and Beth Radom Congregation, where she also serves on the board of directors and as Gabbai of the synagogue.
